TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
Teams will compete amongst themselves in a round-robin tournament.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Any U.S.
female citizen who is currently a sophomore or junior in high school.

(2003); Abby Waner (2004); Candice Wiggins (2003); Sharnee' Zoll (2003).
EVENT HISTORY: Held 2002-2005 at the
U.S. Olympic Training Center, the now biennial USA Basketball Womens
Youth Development Festival in 2007 will feature three teams of high school
athletes from the United States. Up to 10 USA players will be placed on
Red, White and Blue USA teams that will compete amongst themselves and
against a team from Brazil in a round-robin tournament. The North claimed
the first gold medal at the 2002 event, in 2003 the USA East Team took
the gold and in 2004 the USA West, which had finished no higher than third
in 02 and 03, was the golden squad. In 2005, the most recent
Festival, the U.S. fielded three teams (Red, White and Blue) with a team
from Canada making up the fourth squad. The USA Blue went 5-0 for the
gold.
